The following statement which sets out the role of London Knee Clinic Ltd as a company, and the role of the individual doctors and other professionals providing your medical and nursing treatment, was updated on 1st June 2010.

London Knee Clinic is responsible for the provision of administrative services, handling your confidential data, administration of appointments, liaising between you, your insurance company and medical staff, and the collection of payments. London Knee Clinic is registered with the Office of the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act and is responsible for keeping your confidential information including financial details in a secure environment. London Knee Clinic carries Public Liability Insurance to cover the eventuality of falls or other injuries sustained while visiting our offices. However London Knee Clinic is not responsible for any medical advice or treatment, the sole responsibility for which lies with the individual medical staff involved in your care.

You will be seen by one or more doctors in the course of your treatment each of whom is responsible and liable on an individual basis for the quality and standard of care they provide. All doctors involved in your care are Regulated by the General Medical Council and must comply with the guidance on good practice as detailed in the GMC publication Good Medical Practice. All doctors involved in your care are covered for individual Medical Malpractice Liability. This is provided by professional organisations that offer advice and assistance on legal, ethical and other problems arising in medical practice. They also provide indemnity for damages and costs arising from professional negligence. Further information can be obtained directly from the individual doctors concerned.  

All doctors involved in your care do so through Admitting Rights administered under the Clinical Governance arrangements in force in each of the hospitals or treatment centres you attend. The non-exclusive list of locations you may attend includes hospitals and treatment centres owned by HCA including London Bridge Hospital and the Wellington Hospital as well as other independent Hospitals and centres such as the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. Further information regarding Clinical Governance arrangements can be obtained from the websites of the hospitals and treatment centres concerned. The responsibility for the quality of all medical and nursing treatment provided by these establishments is entirely their own.
